Ms E emailed me and said she was in love. In love with the mission of our photography studio and in love with the boudoir pictures we create. Of course I was touched, and was also a little nervous that I wouldn’t be able to exceed her expectations in her boudoir experience. It thrills me to be able to share with you her images, and her words about her experience.

A lot of people seem to think it’s just lip service that boudoir pictures will literally change a woman’s life. Even sometimes I get ground down and start to believe that myself. Reading these emails moves me to tears, but also swells my heart to know how much it really does change a woman from the outside in.

What was your biggest fear before hiring me for your boudoir pictures? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead? I was afraid of feeling awkward wearing so little, or that the session would feel crass. Instead, the opposite was the case — Jillian made me feel completely comfortable, and turned what might seem a superficial thing into what felt like an act of genuine love.

What, specifically, was your favorite part of your experience, and why? My session was a surprisingly emotional experience. I went in thinking it was kind of thrilling, maybe a little silly — instead, more than a year later, it’s something that continues to create a connection between me and my partner. He is incredibly fond of the pictures. The way that it has deepened our bond is totally irreplaceable, and I didn’t even expect it.

What advice would you give to someone considering booking a session with us? Stop thinking about it and just do it! The sooner the better! You’ll know once you’re there that what you’re doing is an incredible gift for yourself and your loved one(s).

What did you take away from your experience that surprised you the most? I think as women we don’t often think about the effect that the pervasive objectification of women/models has on men. It can make them ashamed of appreciating beauty even in their girlfriends/wives/lovers. My portrait session blew that wide open. It gave him permission that I didn’t even realize he really deeply needed to appreciate my body and how I look. That gift has enhanced literally everything about our relationship.
