Mirrors for Boudoir

My goal here is to turn what can sometimes be our worst enemy into something that empowers and inspires us. Mirrors. I love using mirrors for boudoir shoots for so many reasons. There is a sense of pride and inner strength that reflects back when a woman is baring it all, getting vulnerable, and tapping into her inner goddess.

I always say that boudoir is a life-changing experience. When women look at the images after their photoshoot…their jaws just drop to the floor. They can’t believe the woman they are looking at in those photos. I love bringing mirrors into the mix during the shoot so that they can see the transformation happening before their eyes.

Significance of Mirrors

Not only do mirrors provide a beautiful and dynamic boudoir prop….mirrors have significance. Looking back at that reflection is it’s own journey. A journey that we as women know all too well.

And the goal here is to look into that mirror and see beauty, grace, love, appreciation, and gratitude reflect back. I want to change the intimidation of that mirror into one of acceptance and pure love.

How Mirrors for Boudoir Can Enhance Your Photoshoot

1. Depth & Dimension

Using mirrors in photography adds a level of depth and dimension in the photoshoot. It reflects light, opens up the space, and brings a sense of drama to the look and feel of the image.

2. Body Angles

Mirrors in photography is a popular way to bring different angles and perspectives, and even more so in boudoir photography. I’m always searching for the perfect angles while I’m looking through my lens, so when I have a mirror to work with, I can show 2 different angles to show off my client’s body at one time. Those curves are so beautiful!

3. Symbolism

So much of boudoir is feeling beautiful. Is there a more perfect prop to symbolize beauty than a mirror? “Mirror, mirror on the wall…” am I right? I can’t think of a better way to not only create dynamic images, but to also create a space for them to see themselves as their beloved sees them. Perfect.

Love That Reflection

Ultimately, the goal here is not only to create beautiful images for you to take home, but to truly love that reflection of yours. Our bodies are a gift…and I know it’s not easy to always love them the way we should, but hopefully your boudoir experience opens your eyes to the beauty on the inside and out.

If you’re ready to experience the inner goddess, connect with me. I’d love to be a part of your journey.
