Simplicity in Buduoir

Some people think they need a lot of design, colors, and other props when they do buduoir photography. They see this as an opportunity where they can be creative rather than doing something intimate. That’s not bad, really. It’s perfectly fine to want to show your true colors…and if your true colors are bold, creative, and vibrant, then go for it!

However, there are those who want to embrace the simplicity in boudoir.

The quick definition of minimalism is that it’s used in any form of art wherein it gives out or exposes the identity of the subject by eliminating all unnecessary forms, features, and concepts. It is making something trimmed down to its simplest look using the fewest elements possible but still gaining a maximum effect.

Buduoir photography is also a form of art; the sexiest at that. And in buduoir, the rule “less is more” really works. A woman’s figure already features beautiful curves; clothing, accessories, and props are nothing against a woman’s body. They just enhance…but they can’t replace such amazing feat.

When it comes to make-up, poses, and even facial expressions, minimalism is also a huge factor. Wearing nude or natural shades of make-up brings out the best assets and features of the face and body.

What are simple ways to keep your buduoir photoshoot minimalistic?

Stick with Neutral

When you are considering which sexy lingerie to pick up, stick with blacks, whites, greys, and beige. Let your poses do the talking!

Go Buduoir Nude

This is always one of our favorite buduoir options. It’s literally as simple as it comes. The shape of your body will speak volumes when you get your photos back. You will find yourself celebrating that amazing body of yours.

Only the Heels

Just one little prop added onto your birthday suit option. Throw on some heels if you’re looking for an extra sensual, yet still simplistic, buduoir session.

Natural Makeup

If your goal is minimal, keep the makeup neutral. A soft smokey eye and lipstick just a couple shades darker than your natural lip color will do the trick.

Silhouettes

Ask your buduoir photographer to capture the purity of your body by getting a few silhouette shots. Not only is this simple, but it adds some mystery to the images.

So when you’re looking for ideas on what to do for your buduoir photography, try to think things over and consider going minimalist. Who knows…this is the theme that might actually work best for you!
